Micro-credentials in Higher Education: From strategy to implementation

How can higher education institutions make use of micro-credentials? The event focussed on the strategic dimension of these small learning offers and provided a forum for discussions and the presentation of practice examples

The 2022 Recommendation on a European approach to micro-credentials for lifelong learning and employability aims to facilitate the development, implementation and recognition of micro-credentials within and across institutions. The event provided a forum for higher education representatives and other stakeholders to address the question, what higher education institutions can do to give substance to the Council Recommendation. It offered insights from latest developments around micro-credentials on the European level and it provided a platform to present some practice examples of how German HEI have implemented these small learning units along degree programmes, in continuing education and in their internationalisation efforts.
