Dr. Eva Janebová und Dr. Jos Beelen
In this interactive workshop, you will learn about current and emerging concepts within international higher education, such as Inclusive, Equitable, Responsible, Resilient and Intelligent Internationalisation.
Yet another concept, Critical Internationalisation, provides us with lenses on how institutional and disciplinary cultures align with these internationalisation concepts. We will also discuss new definitions of internationalisation that have emerged outside Europe, for example in China and South Africa. Finally, we will unpack the notion of decolonisation of higher education and its relevance in general, as well as specifically for Virtual Exchange and Collaborative Oline International Learning (COIL).
You will learn how to how to look through Critical Internationalisation at your institution and disciplines and how to use the Pocket Model for institution-wide internationalisation.
We will discuss this against be background of current geopolitical change and its implications for internationalisation of higher education in your own context. We will also look at reactions to these implications from the EU, European and national associations and individual universities, ranging from advocacy to activism.
