Objective
Facilitate an exchange of views on EHEA mobility targets and peer-learning on member countries’ internationalisation strategies and priorities.

Since the launch of the Bologna Process, student mobility has been at the heart of policy reforms within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). The goal of having at least 20% of EHEA graduates complete an academic or professional experience abroad has been consistently reaffirmed in ministerial declarations over the past two decades. The debate on how to achieve this target has gained renewed momentum, particularly following the EU Member States’ commitment to an even more ambitious objective under Europe on the Move.

At the same time, the rise of Digital formats, as well as growing emphasis on sustainability and inclusivity, is reshaping not only discussions on mobility but also the broader internationalisation discourse within higher education.

This peer learning activity aimed to explore the complexity of internationalisation and mobility, drawing on diverse national experiences. In addition to members of the relevant EHEA working group, the event brought together higher education policy experts and university representatives working in the field of internationalisation and mobility.
