CEEDUCON 2025: Successful Impulses for Europe’s Future
The seventh Central European CEEDUCON Conference in Prague demonstrated that Europe’s future is being shaped at universities. More than 850 experts from 24 countries discussed how topics such as “Smart & Sustainable Cooperation”, “Internationalisation for All”, “Global & Regional Partnerships”, and “Alumni & Future Skills” can strengthen Europe’s competitiveness. With 157 inspiring presentations and vibrant exchanges, the event set new standards for innovation and networking.
Superbly organised and hosted by Czech National Agency for International Education and Research DZS, the NA DAAD also participated as a committed partner, supporting CEEDUCON both financially and with participants and speakers. The high level of interest underlines: successful cooperation in higher education and investment in talent are key to sustainable progress and innovation in Europe. You can find live posts about the opening and selected sessions from the NA DAAD account on LinkedIn.
The program offered 63 lectures, workshops, and debates, and the high level of interest from the professional community was confirmed by the number of submissions: DZS received 164 proposals for presentations this year. In addition to the content, the networking part of the conference also played a key role – it was here that new contacts and partnerships were formed, universities were connected, and the community was strengthened, which is crucial for long-term international cooperation and meaningful work with students and graduates.
NA DAAD also captured voices of participants and colleagues during the conference

“I had the privilege of attending the inspiring CEEDUCON event in the beautiful city of Prague. Very professionally organised by the Czech National Agency, the event provided many engaging workshops and the perfect opportunity to network with dedicated colleagues from International Offices and National Agencies. This experience was extremely enriching for me, both professionally and personally.”
Felipe Rodrigues Trindade, NA DAAD
The conference was opened by DZS Director General Michal Uhl with a fundamental question: "Internationalisation is no longer optional. It is a basic prerequisite for developing the skills we need to be globally competitive. If Europe is to remain at the forefront, it must open up its educational space, remove barriers, and invest in talent — from the first contact with students to their careers and involvement in society."
The importance of the European Union's new multiannual financial framework and the future of the Erasmus+ programme was emphasised by the conference's keynote speaker, Stefan Zotti from the European Commission. He reminded the audience that Europe is facing a strategic decision on whether to increase investment in education and enhance the flexibility of the Erasmus+ programme which is currently one of the most successful mechanisms of European integration.
Jaroslav Miller, Chairman of the National Accreditation Authority for Tertiary Education, also referred to the European dimension of the debate. He pointed out that internationalisation is now the basis for the competitiveness of the European education area and that without coordination between the policies of individual countries, its potential cannot be fully exploited. "If Europe is to keep pace with global leaders, it needs an open, compatible, and well-connected education area," he emphasised.
„This year’s CEEDUCON was a unique opportunity to expand my horizon on various areas of international cooperation in higher education. The conference schedule was seamlessly organised and made it very easy to identify and participate in the workshops that were most relevant to my own expertise. Of special interest to me were the presentations on challenges of academic collaboration across borders in times of political and social crises. Thanks to the broad appeal and popularity of the conference, I was able to network and exchange knowledge with colleagues from all over Europe.“
Gideon Liehr, NA DAAD
In summary, it can be said that all participants benefited both from the thematic content and the opportunity to network. To the delight of the organisers, everyone was very satisfied with the conference.
