The EU programme LEONARDO DA VINCI promotes European cross-border co-operation between various players such as universities and enterprises in an effort to increase transnational mobility and improve the quality of training and education by way of fostering skills development through transnational mobility experience. At the moment, 31 countries participate in this EU programme.
The participating countries are: The 25 EUs member states as well as the three accession countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, UK, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, the three EFTA-countries Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein as well as the three accession countries Bulgaria, Rumania and Turkey.
The programme is implemented in each participating country through National Agencies (Link to NA).
LEONARDO DA VINCI mobility projects in the higher education area are designed to foster skills development and exchange of expertise by enabling students and recent graduates for traineeships in another European country. More information on facts and figures on the EU programme see press release of the European Commission
The higher education institutions profit from their participation in the EU programme by the gain of transfer of knowledge from the world of work into their institution through the students. These future graduates increase their employability by developing new skills and act as a bridge for the university to establish new contacts with potential partners in the world of business all over Europe. Last but not least, the universities strengthen their attractiveness and international reputation.
For detailed information about participating in the programme as well as on funding please contact the National Agency in your country.
